UB will recognize outstanding students on April 30 during a two-part Celebration of Student Academic Excellence, featuring an afternoon student showcase followed by a recognition ceremony.
The student showcase begins at 1 p.m. in Broadview Arena, highlighting student research and creative projects. Coordinated by the Experiential Learning Network (ELN), it invites attendees to experience interdisciplinary work created by UB students.
“Each year, our campus comes together to spotlight the most outstanding student work from every corner of the university,” says Christina Heath, director of ELN. “It’s a powerful reminder of the creativity, dedication and intellectual curiosity that define our students. My hope is that this celebration not only honors what they’ve accomplished here but also inspires them to carry that momentum forward into meaningful, fulfilling careers.”
The recognition ceremony, which begins at 3 p.m. in Slee Hall, is hosted by President Satish K. Tripathi and Provost A. Scott Weber and will feature on-stage recognition of students in several categories:
“The Celebration of Student Academic Excellence highlights the curiosity, dedication and impact our students bring to their academic work every day,” says Ann Bisantz, vice provost and dean of undergraduate education. “From research and creative activity to academic achievement across disciplines, our students are asking important questions, engaging deeply in their fields and contributing to a vibrant academic community. This celebration is an opportunity to honor their accomplishments and to look ahead to the meaningful impact they will make in the world.”
