Tyler Leote, PharmD ’27, has been awarded a competitive travel grant from the American Association of Psychiatric Pharmacists (AAPP) Foundation to support her pursuit of psychiatric pharmacy.
The grant provides $310 toward registration for the 2026 AAPP Annual Meeting in Seattle, WA, taking place April 19-22. Recipients were selected based on the strength of their applications and strong recommendations from faculty. Leote is one of only 33 PharmD students nationwide to receive this award.
“AAPP as an organization has allowed me to learn so much about psychiatric pharmacy at the local level, and I would love the opportunity to learn more from psychiatric pharmacists throughout the country,” says Leote. “The expanding role of the pharmacist in the United States and our integral role on the health care team is important for psychiatry especially, which has patients that need support and advocacy who may not be able to advocate for themselves.”
“Together with Tammie Lee Demler, PharmD, MBA, I would like to extend our congratulations to Tyler Leote for securing a travel grant from AAPP Foundation to attend their annual meeting in hopes of pursuing a career in psychiatric pharmacy,” says Nicole Albanese, PharmD, assistant dean of student success and engagement. “She was one of 33 PharmD students across the country selected for this grant. We are very proud of the accomplishment and look forward to her elevating UB nationally.”
As the philanthropic arm of AAPP, the mission of the AAPP Foundation is to advance the psychiatric pharmacy profession by supporting research, scholarship and practitioner development.
