Give back to the local Buffalo community by serving as a tutor for students in the Buffalo public schools. Use your expertise and knowledge to assist local students who lack adequate access to academic resources.
Students will work as tutors as an extension of the AOC Homework Helper’s Program. Homework Helpers assist thousands of students in NYC public schools by providing tutoring and academic support for grades K-12. Similar to NYC, students in the Buffalo Public School system often lack the resources to employ the service of professional tutors and find themselves at a disadvantage, not only regarding state testing but later in the college admissions process. This program is hoping to bridge the resource gap and provide the support to allow these students to thrive. Tutors will meet weekly online with their prospective students and work on both homework and provided lesson plans to supplement the student’s education.
