We are continuing to prepare for the April 24, 2026 deadline to meet federal digital accessibility requirements. All course content provided to students, including documents, slides, videos, and UB Learns materials, is required to be accessible. The updated rules emphasize designing accessible materials from the start, rather than relying on individual accommodation requests.

What should I do now?

How can I get support?

Your Unit Accessibility Liaison can help you get started and answer questions specific to your discipline. In addition, CATT is available to support you as you work through your course materials. Submit an instructional support ticket to connect with our team.

In addition to the resources above, CATT will be sharing a five-part podcast mini-series dedicated to the updated Title II regulations. The first two episodes are available now on the CATT website and all podcast streaming platforms:

  • Episode one: What is Changing Under Title II and How to Get Started
    11/18/25
Digital accessibility becomes a meaningful driver of equitable learning when a university treats it as a shared responsibility rather than a compliance checkbox. In this episode, the Teaching Table Podcast brings together instructional leaders from UB’s Office of Curriculum, Assessment and Teaching Transformation to explore upcoming ADA Title II updates and their impact on teaching in a digital environment. The conversation explains the new WCAG 2.1 AA standards and highlights why these expectations are becoming essential across higher education.
  • Episode two: How to Start Your Course Digital Accessibility Review
    12/8/25
Digital accessibility becomes more manageable and meaningful when faculty approach it as a step-by-step process rather than an overwhelming checklist. In this episode, the Teaching Table Podcast brings together Maggie Grady and Sarah Guglielmi from UB’s Office of Curriculum, Assessment and Teaching Transformation to walk faculty through how to begin a course-level digital accessibility review in preparation for the upcoming ADA Title II updates. The conversation introduces CATT’s Digital Accessibility Review Checklist and explains how the “Remove, Replace, Remediate” framework can help instructors organize their efforts and prioritize what matters most.

Thank you for taking steps now to make your course materials accessible and to support an inclusive learning environment for all students. As always, our team is here to support you. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to submit a ticket or reach out to us at ubcatt@buffalo.edu.
