With this scholarship fund, you can help students who are interested in improving human movement.

Scholarships provide transformative opportunities for students in the exercise science program in the Department of Excercise and Nutrition Sciences — part of the School of Public Health and Health Professions. For underserved students (including those who are the first in their families to attend college), scholarships can be the deciding factor in choosing to attend UB, or being able to earn their degree.

Our vision is to improve the public’s health and well-being through our scientific discoveries, our education of researchers and professionals, and our commitment to outreach and community education.

Students in the exercise science program focus on the scientific study of how human movement influences health, fitness, performance and disease prevention. Students also gain a broad understanding of the human body, including physiological, biomechanical and nutritional factors.

Graduates typically pursue advanced professional programs, conduct clinical research or enter the workforce, working in a variety of industries including fitness, athletics, rehabilitation and other healthcare related areas, hospitality and the government.

    Buffalo, NY – UB's School of Public Health and Health Professions congratulates Janet Wojcik, PhD, FACSM, BS '90, an SPHHP alumna, who has been selected to receive Winthrop University’s top teaching accolade: the James Pinckney Kinard and Lee Wicker Kinard Award for Excellence in Teaching. She will be formally presented with the award at the university’s Dec. 20 Commencement ceremony.
