Regional Network Leaders Toolkit
Welcome to the Regional Nework Leaders resource page!
Regional Network Leaders are the heart and soul of our alumni networks. By volunteering, you create and maintain ties between UB and graduates by planning and managing a wide range of events, such as networking and happy hours, student-alumni connecting, community service projects, and sporting or cultural events.
The resources below were created for UB Alumni Regional Network Leaders recognized by the Office of Alumni Engagement. We hope the tools in this toolkit assist you in guiding and managing your networks.

Things you need to know to build a successful and active regional network - Coming soon!
Regional Leaders:
- Complete and submit the event request form (30 days or more before the event)
- Develop the event (event type, format, location, capacity, menu)
- Work with the venue/organization on the details
- Help with promoting the event through your personal networks
- Accept a box of UB SWAG and event items
- Set up SWAG, circulate sign in sheet and organize informal group photos at the event
- Provide attendance results to alumni engagement
- Optional: take photos and share with alumni engagement
- Share any feedback/let us know if you plan to do this again
The Office of Alumni Engagement provides:
- a designated staff liaison assigned to your network
- an overview of alumni demographics in the area, as needed
- a survey of area alumni, as needed
- Leadership and volunteer training opportunities, including toolbox of resources
- coaching and advice on the planning and logistics and helping to confirm all your details
- event support – registration set up, collection of payments if applicable, registration sharing and tracking; confirmations for registrants, payment arrangement for event expenses, post-event surveys to attendees
- event ordering arrangements (e.g., catering, tickets, will calls, etc.)
- event promotion to area alumni via e-mail and social media channels
- shipment of event supplies and UB SWAG to alumni volunteer for event
- payment of event admission fee (if applicable) for staffing as a volunteer forum for post-event discussion/evaluation
Regional Network Leaders typically help to plan the following type of events for alumni in their area:
- Welcome recent grads event
- Annual UB Alumni Founders Day gathering
- UB or Buffalo affiliated Watch Party
- Community Service with group of alumni
