My Virtual Computing Lab, which offers remote access to UB-licensed academic software like MS Office, MATLAB and MS Visual Studio, is now easier to use. UB faculty, staff and students can now access MyVCL via Remote App using a Web browser: just run or install Microsoft Remote Desktop.

Microsoft Remote Desktop software allows for running a virtual desktop from another computer. It’s built into Windows and can be downloaded for free from the App Store on Macintosh computers. Unfortunately, there isn’t a stable client for Linux, so My Virtual Computing Lab is not available for Linux customers at this time.

If you use Internet Explorer, you only need to sign in once using your UBITName and password to access My Virtual Computing Lab. Chrome, Firefox and Safari customers will be asked to sign in twice.
