NBC News featured Vincent Lynch in a story about biotechnology firm Colossal recently creating elephant stem cells in an attempt to bring back woolly mammoths from extinction. “It’s not really a mammoth,” says Lynch, who was not involved in the company’s work. “It’s a mutated Asian elephant. To put them back now isn’t to replace something that was once there, but it’s to put into an invasive species into an environment in which it’s never been before.”
