NPR's World Cafe program invited Michael Mwenso, visiting professor of the arts at UB, to share and discuss the significance of some of his favorite protest songs. NPR reports that Mwenso's role at UB "is not only to teach classes, but also to help boost the arts scene while focusing on Black music and artists through a program called 'Protest, Hope and Resilience Through Black Arts.' The course is described as 'a personally curated curriculum of history and music that explores how people of color have been agents of positive change and inclusion.'"
