Greenland could lose more ice this century than it has in 12,000 years

National Geographic and several major news outlets around the world covered new research led by Jason Briner, whose team concludes that the Greenland Ice Sheet is on track to lose ice at a faster pace this century than in any century over the last 12,000 years. “We have confidence now that this century is going to be unique in the context of natural variability of the last 12,000 years,” Briner said to National Geographic.
