The Capitol Pressroom interviewed Raechele Pope on the first day of UB's Graducate School of Education Teach-in for Racial Equality, a two-day, virtual event that will employ the teach-in, a form of activism that began during the anti-war movement of the 1960s, to educate faculty, staff and students on the root causes and effects of racial injustice and systemic racism, particularly in education. “The goal is to cover a variety of issues from a range of perspectives so that all participants have a better understanding of the root causes and effects of racial injustice, specifically within educational systems,” said Pope.
