UB more than two-thirds toward $650 million campaign goal

Stories by the Buffalo News, Associated Press report UB has launched “Boldly Buffalo: The Campaign for UB” with a goal of raising $650 million, the largest fundraiser in the history of UB as well as of the SUNY system. The article notes that the university already has secured $451 million of the goal, and quotes UB President Satish K. Tripathi, who said the campaign will "amplify UB's mission of transforming ambitious dedicated students into thoughtful leaders and change-makers who have an immeasurable impact on our region and the world." The article also reports that so far, nearly 61,000 donors have made 160,000 gifts to the campaign, ranging from $1 to more than $30 million, according to Rodney M. Grabowski, vice president for university advancement, and more than 100 donors pledged gifts of $1 million or more and 10,500 alumni made their first-ever gifts to UB, he said. Locally, stories appeared on WBFO-FM, WBEN-AM and WGRZ-TV. The Associated Press article appeared in news outlets around the country, including the Seattle TimesWHAM-TV in Rochester, and U.S. News & World Report.
