Tragedy spurs young voices into gun control debate

An article in USA Today about last week’s mass shooting in Florida, and the passionate response it has generated among student survivors who are calling for gun control legislation, interviews Mark Seery, associate professor of psychology, who said it is not unexpected that young voices are rising to the national stage on gun violence. “This could compel young people who have never advocated for anything before to do so now because they have been affected by this tragedy in a real and personal way,” he said.
