An article in The Atlantic about the decline in unions and the need for a new kind of labor organization that could address the grievances of workers who feel voiceless and powerless interview Matthew Dimick, associate professor of law. “Unions provide a mediating function,” he said. “Their social-capital function creates ties that reduce anomie and the sense of being abandoned and forgotten.”
