UB president highlights growth in federal research, increase in graduate degrees earned

An article in the Buffalo News reports on Friday’s State of the University address by UB President Satish K. Tripathi, and notes that he presented a portrait of a university on the rise, highlighting growth in federal research expenditures, from $156 million to $184 million; a steep rise in scholarly citations; more graduate degrees earned; more awards for student academic performance, including eight National Science Foundation graduate research fellowships; and a dramatic increase in four-year graduation rates from 35 percent in 2005 to 55 percent in 2015. Articles also appeared in Business First, Time Warner Cable News and WKBW-TV.
