New York opens marijuana clinics with emphasis on 'medical'

A Reuters article reports the first medical marijuana dispensaries to open in New York State are among the most conservative and tightly monitored programs in the U.S. and quotes Ed Bednarczyk, chair of pharmacy practice in UB’s School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. By permitting only refined marijuana extracts, not smokable crude plant or so-called edibles, the state is allowing for greater dosing standardization and purity, he said.
