Jacob Neiheisel, assistant professor of political science, co-authored an article for FiveThirtyEight titled Republicanism Trumps Religion When It Comes to Anti-Muslim Sentiment. “According to our research, negative views of Muslims among Republicans are not based on conservative Christian attitudes toward another religion; they’re based in Republican partisan identity,” write Neiheisel and co-authors Andrew Lewis of the University of Cincinnati and Paul Djupe of Denison University.
