A story on NCB News about New York Comic Con 2015 and its discussions on the future and need for diversity in comic books reports John Jennings, associate professor of art and an award-winning graphic novelist, spoke about Afrofuturism intertwined with his own personal narrative. “Afrofuturism is imagining ourselves in the future, which is pretty audacious for us to think that way, seeing how we’re not supposed to have one,” he said.
