Could Twitter be as helpful as a snow plow?

An article in The Washington Post reports on a study by UB researchers that found that Twitter can provide fairly sensitive data about not only current weather conditions, but the condition of roads and highways, and quotes Adel Sadek, director of UB’s Institute for Sustainable Transportation and Logistics. “It doesn’t matter if someone tweets about how beautiful the snow is or if they’re complaining about unplowed roads,” he said.
