A Rust Belt festival revels in new music

An article in The Wall Street Journal features the 40th anniversary celebration of June in Buffalo, the weeklong program of concerts, lectures and composition master classes that the experimental composer Morton Feldman founded. The article reports the festival is also celebrating its 30th year under the direction of the composer David Felder, and notes that it would be hard to name more than a handful of major composers of the past 30 years who have not appeared on the festival’s faculty roster.
