WKBW, Time Warner Cable News and KTNV (Las Vegas) report that UB medical students gathered “in solidarity” with thousands around the world protesting officer-involved killings of unarmed black men. UB’s medical students called their gathering “White Coats for Black Lives.”  In the TWCN report, UB medical student and organizer, Nina Paroff, was interviewed and said, “This is a public health issue and this is something that is deeply, deeply connected to our mission as aspiring physicians to resolve the underlying racist policies in systems of policing that so often negatively affect the health of black people in this country.”
