The New York Times interviews UB expert about hyperacusis

In a New York Times article about the little-known condition of hyperacusis which causes sound sensitivity and sometimes is accompanied by ear pain, UB’s Richard Salvi, a professor of communicative disorders and sciences and scientific adviser to a nonprofit group that funds research on the condition, was interviewed. Salvi said, “This is clearly an emerging field. Further work is required to understand the symptoms, etiology and underlying neural mechanisms.”
