An article in Forbes reports on research by Dietrich Jehle, professor of emergency medicine, about the dangers to texting and walking. “I think pedestrian safety has been ignored somewhat,” he said. “The issue with texting and going across intersections is a serious public health issue that results in large numbers of injuries and deaths….Putting the cell phone down while you’re doing this can save a number of lives.”
