60 Minutes interviews UB volcanologist about the ‘personalities’ of Vesuvius

Michael Sheridan, UB professor emeritus of geology, was featured on 60 Minutes in a story on the volcanic hazards posed by Mount Vesuvius.  Sheridan was interviewed by 60 Minutes in studio and in helicopters flying around Vesuvius in southern Italy. The volcano “has different personalities and the last personality was rather benign, but it’s got some mean personalities down there that we don’t want to experience in our lifetime,” he said.
