USA Today publishes UB expert's co-authored column on population shifts, state limits and personal freedoms

A column in USA Today about population shifts that are being caused by state limits on personal freedoms was co-authored by Jason Sorens, assistant professor of political science, whose book, “Freedom in 50 States,” was released today. An article about the study also appeared on Huffington Post, and Sorens was quoted in an article in the Newark Star-Ledger that calls New Jersey the most highly regulated and highly taxed state in the country. “Most of the time some equivalence between income and spending is expected,” he said. “But New Jersey is average in government spending, while it has among the highest taxes in the country.”
