Inside Higher Ed interviews UB president about increased numbers of Indian-born academics rising to leadership in U.S. universities

An article on Inside Higher Education about the growing number of Indian-born academics who are being named to top leadership roles at large U.S. research universities interviews UB President Satish K. Tripathi. The fact that individuals saw opportunity for graduate work and employment at American universities, and the fact that such individuals are now rising to top leadership jobs, is a testament to the meritocratic nature of the U.S. higher-education system, he said. The article notes that when Tripathi was appointed UB president in 2011, he was the only Indian-born leader of an AAU institution.
