An article on the front page of the Life & Arts section in the Buffalo News profiles Grace Mukupa, one of three UB students to earn a Fulbright Fellowship this year, who will leave Buffalo Aug. 31 for Tajikistan in Central Asia, where she will spend 10 months studying the role of food incentives in childhood education to complete her dissertation for a doctorate in Global Gender Studies. The article looks at the extraordinary path Mukupa has taken, from her childhood in a village in Zambia in Southern Africa to her studies in UB's Department of Transnational Studies, where she is finally able to specialize in the issues that are most dear to her.
