James E. Campbell, professor and chair of political science, was interviewed for a story on WNYC-FM, a New York City public radio station, about the 26th District's three-way race for congress and the issues that face its rural and suburban communities that have seen a steady decline in jobs and population. "What we've had is a lot of targeted programs that don't seem to wind up producing much in the way of results," he said. "I don't think we really can count on national politicians or congressmen to turn around what is fundamentally a more localized problem."
