William E. Boden, professor of medicine and preventive medicine, is quoted in a number of articles following the announcement this weekend at the American Diabetes Association meeting in New Orleans of a study that found that diabetics with stable heart disease do just as well taking drugs alone as getting quick angioplasty or bypass surgery to open blocked heart arteries. Articles were distributed by news agencies that include Reuters, HealthDay and Bloomberg News. Additional articles also appeared in BusinessWeek, Baltimore Sun and Los Angeles Times (as part of the Tribune Newspapers group) and Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. In addition, a medical Web site,

MedPage Today, did an article on the results.
