UPI: Can nasal spray eliminate need for dental injections?

An article distributed by UPI reports UB dental researchers are testing a nasal spray that numbs the upper teeth, eliminating the need for dental injections, and quotes Sebastian Ciancio, SUNY Distinguished Service Professor and chair of the Department of Periodontology. "If this study is successful, it may mean the end of dental injections when dentists are performing procedures on the upper arch," he said. "We currently are testing to determine what the optimal dose if for this spray when used as an anesthetic agent for the maxillary -- upper -- teeth." Go to article.
