An article distributed by Reuters news service looks at the $1.2 million NEESWood (Network for Earthquake Engineering Simulation) project being conducted at UB to learn ways to improve the way wood-frame buildings are designed and constructed to produce homes able to better withstand the effects of earthquakes. The article appeared in a number of news sites, including The Washington Post. Then article also appeared in the newspaper Sudwest Presse, published in Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
