Comedian Jim Gaffigan Coming to UB Oct. 22 for Two Shows

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Center for the Arts at University at Buffalo will present Jim Gaffigan on Saturday, Oct. 22, at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. in the Mainstage Theatre, Center for the Arts, UV North Campus.

Jim Gaffigan has proven himself to be a major talent beloved by a wide range of audiences after achieving milestones in stand-up, acting and writing. Gaffigan's clever, quiet style has earned him an unprecedented number of appearances on both the Late Show with David Letterman and Late Night with Conan O'Brien. His talent for stand-up has made Gaffigan one of the Top 5 most-successful touring comedians in the country today, and his CDs and DVDs, including Beyond the Pale, have reached platinum sales. As approachable as he is edgy, Gaffigan is responsible for some of the funniest and most memorable moments in recent television and film.

Gaffigan has had many breakout television roles ranging from HBO's cult comedies Bored to Death and Flight of the Conchords, to dramatic roles in all three versions of Law & Order. Gaffigan has also co-starred with Ellen Degeneres in her sitcom, The Ellen Show, has had recurring roles on That 70's Show and Ed, and has made notable guest appearances on Sex in the City and Third Watch. After his first appearance on the Late Show, Gaffigan was handpicked by Letterman to develop a sitcom for World Wide Pants, Welcome to New York, which debuted to critical acclaim.

In recent years, Gaffigan has also become a mainstay on the big screen with memorable roles in Going the Distance, Away We Go and It's Kind of a Funny Story. Gaffigan's penchant for playing vivid supporting roles has resulted in hilarious scenes in movies like the cult hit Super Troopers, as well as 13 Going on 30, Trust the Man, Three Kings, Final, Entropy and Thirty Years to Life.
