UB on the Green, the University at Buffalo's free performance series, will begin its 2009 season today (Tuesday, July 21, 2009) from 6-8 p.m. on UB's South (Main Street) Campus with a collection of light classics from the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra.

Conducted by Paul Ferington, the program will include music and entertainment for people of all ages. The performance will be the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra's first return to the South Campus for an outdoor concert since 1997.

In addition to entertainment, UB on the Green brings together residents of one of Buffalo's most diverse and dynamic neighborhoods. The concert also provides fun educational opportunities for families, including interactive demonstrations and hands-on activities.

The alcohol-free, family-friendly event will take place on the lawn in front of Hayes Hall on the UB South Campus. More information about UB on the Green is available at http://www.buffalo.edu/community.
