BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The UB Anderson Gallery and UB Department of Visual Studies are proud to present "Getting Your Work Shown," a workshop by Jackie Battenfield.  The event will take place in the UB Anderson Gallery from 7-9 p.m. March 22, and is free and open to the public.

Registration is required; to register please contact: Anne Reed at 645-6912 ext. 1424 or e-mail annereed@buffalo.edu.

What is the best way for you to get your work shown? The answer depends on your work, your audience and your priorities. Battenfield, a New York artist who exhibits her paintings and prints nationally, will walk participants through the steps they need to take to create a logical, step-by-step plan that will help them assess their skills and the audience for their work, get advice and help, and connect with people who are passionate about their work.

Since 1991, Battenfield has conducted the Artist in the Marketplace (AIM) Program at the Bronx Museum of the Arts. This model post-graduate seminar focuses on the business of art, enabling artists to take on the job of self-presentation and management. She also works with the Creative Capital Foundation on the development and delivery of workshops for mid career artists and teaches an M.F.A.-level class in professional practices at Columbia University.

This event is organized by Sandra Q. Firmin, curator of the UB Art Galleries, and Joan Linder, Assistant Professor in the UB Department of Visual Studies.

UB Anderson Gallery is supported with funds from the Office of the Provost, the College of Arts and Sciences, the Anderson Gallery Program Fund and the UB Collection Care and Management Endowment Fund.
