BUFFALO N.Y. -- Jason Flack, a master of fine art candidate at the University at Buffalo, will present his master's thesis exhibition, "Imminent," in the UB Anderson Gallery on Martha Jackson Place in Buffalo.

The exhibition will open with a reception to be held from 7:30-8:30 p.m. on April 25 and will be on view through May 4.

Flack's work combines personal history with the nature and problems of life. While his images and sculptures portray individual struggles and the missing pieces of family history resulting from a genetic disease that plagues him and his family, they confront issues with greater scope: dealing with impending problems; the daily struggle with personal "temptations," and the nature of life, which is eventual death. The exhibition serves as Flack's final project for completion of his degree at UB.

Flack received a bachelor of fine arts degree in photography in 1994 from Brockport State College in 1994 and an associates degree in graphic art and advertising design in 1992 from Finger Lakes Community College. His work has exhibited widely in Western New York in venues that include the UB Art Gallery in the Center for the Arts and the Carnegie Arts Center. Currently the gallery director of the UB Art Department Art Gallery and a freelance photographer, Flack has worked as a photography instructor at UB and The Charles G. Finney Corporate High School in Penfield.

UB Anderson Gallery hours are Wednesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, 1-5 p.m. The exhibition is free and open to the public. For more information, call 829-3754.
