UB Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership Introduces New Executive Education Breakfast Sessions

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (CEL) in the University at Buffalo School of Management will offer a series of executive-education breakfast sessions to be held monthly beginning March 27.

The sessions are designed to give area professionals an opportunity to broaden their knowledge of leading-edge practices and network with other members of the business community.

Co-sponsors of the breakfast sessions are Brittany Industries, Inc.; Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership Alumni Association; Fiddler and Co.; Jaeckle Fleischmann & Mugel, LLC; Key Bank Corp.; M&T Bank; Morgan Stanley; Philips, Lytle, Hitchcock, Blaine & Huber, LLC; Niagara Insurance; and Ronco Communications & Electronics, Inc.

Each session will begin with networking at 7:30 a.m. and conclude at 10:30 a.m. Ten different sessions will be offered:

o "Could You Survive A Wage and Hour Audit" will be held March 27. The session will be led by Philip McIntyre, an attorney with Jaeckle Fleischmann & Mugel, LLP.

o "A Primer on Intellectual Property and Leasing," April 24. The session will be facilitated by the following attorneys from Phillips Lytle Hitchcock Blaine & Huber, LLC: Michael Berchou, Tara Hart-Nova, Annabelle Irey, Rowland Richards and Peter Sommer.

o "What Every Business Owner Must Know To Maximize Growth in Western New York's Economy," May 29. The session will be led by Fred Rickan and Rick LeFauve of Morgan Stanley.

o "An Overview of New York State's Economic Development Programs," June 26. Presenting the session will be attorneys Steven Ricca, Vince Hanley and Robert Murray, all of Jaeckle Fleischmann & Mugel, LLC.

o "Joint Ventures and Strategic Alliances," July 24. Attorneys Frederick Attea, David Horan, Joseph Marris and David Murray, all of Phillips, Lytle, Blaine, Hitchcock & Huber, LLC, will present this session.

o "Protecting Your Assets and Building 'The Foundation For Your Future,'" Aug. 28. This session will be led by John Berger, Jr., and Christopher Fiorella with Niagara Insurance.

o "Leasing -- It Lets Business Think Big!," Sept. 25. Sharon Lohocki and Raymond Grinshaw, both of Key Bank Corp., will lead the session.

o "Tax and Financial Planning for Individuals and Businesses," Oct. 30. It will be facilitated by Bill McGowan and James Keefe, both CPAs with Fiddler and Co.

o "Understanding How Communications Technology Can Enhance Your Business Opportunities," Nov. 20. Trey Layton of Ronco Communications and Electronics, Inc. will present the session.

o "Managing A High-Efficiency, Low-Cost Safety Program," Dec. 18. The session will be led by Richard Shields with Safety Compliance.

The cost for each session is $50, which includes all program materials and light breakfast, and $400 for all 10 sessions. Discounts are available to CEL alumni and to organizations enrolling more than one employee. Space is limited for each session, so interested persons are encouraged to register early by calling the CEL Office at 645-3000. All sessions will be held on the UB North (Amherst) Campus.
