UB Offers Series of Spring Printmaking Workshops

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The University at Buffalo experimental Print Imaging Center (ePIC) of the Printmaking Program in the Department of Art is offering a new series of workshops this spring. They include:

o A series of "Photo Etching" workshops, which will introduce the process using pre-sensitized plates and handmade positives, will be offered from 3:30-5 p.m. on Feb. 15, 17, 22 and 24.

o A series on "Waterbased Silkscreen," which will provide instruction on direct-drawn and direct-photo emulsion stencils, will be offered from 3:30-5 p.m. on March 15, 17, 22 and 24.

o A workshop on "Non-Silver for Printmakers" will be offered from 2-6 p.m. on April 2 and April 9.

o A "Chine Colle and Single Level Viscosity Printing Demonstration" also is planned, but a date has not been set.

o "Community Printshop" and "Collaborative Printing" programs will be offered on an individual basis, from Jan. 25 through April 23.

Each workshop series is $60 for students and ePIC members and $100 for the public.

All sessions will be held in the printmaking area in the Center for the Arts on the UB North (Amherst) Campus.
