BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Genevieve W. Kanski, Ed.D., clinical assistant professor in the University at Buffalo School of Nursing, has received the second annual Dean's Award for Excellence in Teaching from the school.

Kanski was selected by a committee appointed by Mecca Cranley, Ph.D., dean of the UB nursing school, which reviewed nominations of current faculty submitted by alumni, students, faculty and staff.

Cranley said Kanski emerged as the top candidate because of her outstanding evaluations by students, many of which reflected her passion and excellence in teaching, as well as multiple letters of support.

Kanski has taught in the undergraduate program at UB for 17 years. She received a bachelor's degree in nursing from D'Youville College and holds master's and doctoral degrees from UB.

Kanski lives in Buffalo.
