Adams to Edit Series For Library Association

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Judith Adams, director of Lockwood Library at the University at Buffalo, has been appointed editor of the Library Administration and Management Association (LAMA) Occasional Paper Series for 1997-99. LAMA is a division of the American Library Association.

The series includes papers on topics related to the managerial aspects of librarianship such as facility planning and management, personnel, public relations, fiscal planning and management, middle management and statistics.

Adams, the author of three books, as well as numerous publications and articles in professional journals, is president of the SUNY Librarians Association. She is a member of the American Library Association, LAMA and the Association of College Research Libraries.

Before coming to UB, she was senior librarian at the National Reference Center for Bioethics Literature and reference librarian at the Library of Congress.

She holds a bachelor's degree in English from Wilkes College in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., a master's degree in English from Lehigh University and a master's degree in library science from Syracuse University.

She is a resident of Amherst.
