Evans was one of two Black players on UB’s football team that declined to play in the 1958 Tangerine Bowl because Evans and teammate Mike Wilson would have been barred from playing.
“Alice and Shep: A Friendship Forged in Rock ‘n Roll” will feature a discussion by the duo about their epic journey and partnership over the past 50 years. The event will take place on the Main Stage Theatre in the Center for the Arts, from 1 - 2 p.m.
Speakers include Assembly Majority Leader Crystal Peoples-Stokes, UB cannabis researcher R. Lorraine Collins and the head of the state’s Office of Cannabis Management.
