Blake Mycoskie, a pioneering social engineer, entrepreneur and
"chief shoe giver," will present the next installment in the UB
Distinguished Speakers Series at 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, in
Alumni Arena on the UB North Campus.
Mycoskie is founder of the footwear company TOMS and the author
of The New York Times' bestseller "Start Something That Matters,"
the UB Reads selection for 2012. His story is one of social
entrepreneurship, business success and the "One for One" program,
which insures that for every pair of TOMS shoes or eyeglasses sold,
TOMS will distribute a pair to children in need somewhere in the
world. So far, more than a million pairs of shoes and eyeglasses
have been distributed.
Mycoskie's lecture is expected to start at approximately 8:10
