NBC News reports on UB’s MCEER earthquake simulations

UB sets out to study a particular kind of building and its possible vulnerability to earthquakes.

A story on NBC News reports on a shake test conducted Feb. 18 at UB’s Multidisciplinary Center for Earthquake Engineering Research that simulated what would happen to New York City’s turn-of-the-century row houses in the event of a magnitude 5.8 earthquake similar to the one that occurred in Virginia in 2011. The story includes a UB video of the test produced by the UB Center for the Arts.
