Lucia A. Leone is a community-based public health researcher. She can speak to the media about food access, and about obesity and physical activity.

Leone’s research involves designing, implementing and evaluating interventions that aim to increase access to healthy food and opportunities for physical activity among underserved populations. She has expertise on topics such as mobile produce markets that bring fresh food to under-served communities, healthy food in corner stores, and the grocery shopping experience of participants in the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program.

Leone has also studied programs designed to encourage exercise, physical activity and cancer screening among targeted populations.
