An article distributed by the Associated Press reports on an historic marker going up in a Vermont town honoring a former slave whose memoir is among the only one known to describe abduction from Africa and quotes Kari Winter, professor of American studies, who edited the memoir. The article appeared in hundreds of news outlets, including the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Albany Times Union, Los Angeles Times, The New York Times and The Washington Post.
