UB President John B. Simpson is quoted in an article in The Chronicle of Higher Education that looks at the effect the financial upheaval on Wall Street is having on the New York State economy and its colleges and universities. "I understand that the state has to take real and significant steps to get its financial house in order, but I believe it's very short-sighted to cut higher education when our economy's foundering," he said.
