BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Mark Knopfler, a multiple Grammy Award winner as the lead singer/songwriter for Dire Straits, will perform at 7:30 p.m. April 28 in the University at Buffalo Center for the Arts on the UB North (Amherst) Campus.

Knopfler is known for combining wry lyrics with guitar prowess to create such major hits as "Money For Nothing," "Sultans Of Swing," "Romeo and Juliet" and "Walk of Life."

Warner Bros. Records released Knopfler's new recording "Get Lucky" on Sept. 15. It is the sixth solo studio album from the legendary musician and follows 2007's highly successful "Kill To Get Crimson." As a special bonus, a free copy of "Get Lucky" will be offered to fans for every pair of concert tickets purchased online.

Tickets for his concert are $97.50 and $86.50, and are available in the Center for the Arts Box Office from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and at all Ticketmaster outlets and ticketmaster.com. Tickets may be charge by phone at 1-800-745-3000.
