Who and What We Support

• Customer-oriented, full service support for a community of 5,500 users, offering a suite of services including: SENS-specific computer accounts with roaming disk space, timeshare services, official and personal web page hosting; consulting; purchasing assistance; installation and maintenance of UB-owned computers; and many other such functions.
• Support for more than 2400 computers, including Intel and Macintosh systems running Microsoft Windows, Ubuntu and other dialects of Linux, and macOS.
• Support for lab and server facilities, including web servers, server clusters, and Linux timeshare servers.
• Support for general and user-specific computing in the SENS node in both instructional and research areas.

• SENS accounts for approximately 5,000 users, which provide access to unique SENS resources.
• Web hosting for various sites.
• Timeshare and GPU compute servers.
• Network storage, including SENS home directories, class directories, departmental shared spaces, and research storage.

• Classroom and instructional support.
• User support for students, faculty, staff, and administration.

There are clustered computing systems available for high performance research needs.SENS does not have a general-use cluster, but our friends at CCR have some impressive facilities available for researchers.
