60 and Over Auditors Program
New York State residents ages 60+ can register to audit many classes free of charge, depending on space available in the class.
How to Register
Complete the Form
Auditors should complete the 60 and Over Auditor Program Request Form.
Submit the Completed Form
Auditors can submit the completed, signed application in person, by mail, fax or email.
Students Will Be Registered by the Office of the Registrar
The Office of the Registrar will register students using the same schedule as non-degree-seeking student registration.
Auditor Requirements and Responsibilities
Senior auditors:
- May need to purchase textbooks or other study materials to fully participate in courses.
- May not exceed the maximum semester credit limits in place for undergraduate and graduate matriculated students.
- Must adhere to UB’s Student Code of Conduct.
Course Exclusions
60 and over auditors may not enroll in any of the following:
- 198 and 199 level courses in any discipline.
- Courses offered by the School of Dental Medicine, Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, Law School, Executive MBA and Professional MBA programs, School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, and graduate-level courses in the School of Social Work.
- Web-based courses (exceptions will be considered upon request from New York State residents only).
- Closed courses; 60 and over auditors are not eligible to be placed on a wait list for a course that has reached enrollment capacity. Space availability will be reviewed during the second week of classes.
