Announcement about UB's Commencement Plans

Published March 17, 2021

Dear university community,

I am pleased to announce that we will be celebrating UB’s 175th commencement in person, with all ceremonies to be held outdoors. As always, we will follow UB’s health and safety measures to ensure a safe in-person celebration of UB’s Class of 2021.

To our students—and especially our 2021 graduates: I know how challenging the past 12 months have been for you, academically and personally. Yet, despite very trying circumstances, you have met this moment with exceptional resilience, perseverance and ingenuity. Throughout, you have remained committed to your studies and steadfast in the pursuit of your life’s goals. I, for one, couldn’t be prouder—and I suspect our entire UB community shares this sentiment.

That is just one reason why I am excited to recognize and honor our graduates in person this spring. You can learn more details about our commencement plans here.

Again, I greatly look forward to the wonderful tradition that is UB’s commencement season—and this, our 175th! I wish everyone in our UB community a rewarding and productive conclusion to the spring semester. I truly appreciate all that you do in support of our mission and vision of excellence.

Sincerely,

Satish K. Tripathi
President
