Created in 1990, the President's Medal is presented in recognition of "outstanding scholarly or artistic achievement, humanitarian acts, contributions of time or treasure, exemplary leadership, or any other major contribution to the development of the University at Buffalo and the quality of life in the UB community."
The UB | AI Chat Series was a two-year series exploring how UB faculty across disciplines are harnessing artificial intelligence for the public good. Launched in 2023, the series discussed AI's role in advancing societal good in the realms of education, health care and the arts, among others, highlighting the pioneering research being completed by UB's multiple AI-focused research centers.

The President’s Advisory Council on Race addressed issues of racism and systemic inequality in order to guide and shape the University at Buffalo's policies, programs, activities and traditions. The council’s work informed how the UB community can harness our university’s education, research and engagement mission to combat racism and dismantle structural barriers to equality.
